OAK CREEK, WI — After nearly 7 years of business, Vivere Italian Restaurant on Rawson Avenue in Oak Creek has closed its doors, the business announced in a Facebook post.

The spot's menu items ranged from appetizers like bruschetta and calamari to hearty pasta dishes like tortellini carbonara and lasagna to seafood, veal and chicken entrees, according to its website. The business had invited customers for one last meal of breaking "Susie's Bread" together on Friday, Jan. 6.

"We would like to thank our loyal customers. You welcomed us with open arms the very first night we opened our doors," Vivere wrote on Facebook. "Making these last few years incredible. Throughout the years you all have become amazing friends to even calling each other family. We have shared important milestones with each other (New jobs, graduations, marriage, birthdays, retirements, etc.). We couldn’t have survived these last years without you all."

The spot, located at 1000 East Rawson Avenue, was placed in a list of "The 9 Best Pasta Places in Wisconsin" by online media outlet Best Things Wisconsin. A 2018 article by The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel described the spot as a family-run business where the chef sings to his soup.

Around 50 people commented on the restaurant's Facebook closing announcement. One commenter said it was their late cousin's favorite restaurant, while others remarked about get-togethers they've held at the restaurant.
