Consignment Sale: 'Everything You Could Possibly Imagine'

"It's everything you could possibly imagine that you would need if you have kids," Port resident Ashley Brooks said of the Just Between Friends consignment sale going on this weekend.

The Port Washington-Germantown Just Between Friends sale is an annual event held in West Bend, and offers "gently used and new children's clothing, toys, strollers, car seats, shoes, women's clothing, including maternity clothes from XS to plus sizes, DVDs, board and electronic games, books, and children’s shoes," according to a press release about the event.

Brooks said she first learned of the sale as a shopper, but she returns each year as a consigner now.

"I've consigned at the event two or three times now, which is awesom. (It's a) great way to get rid (of things)," she said. "It's so much nicer than having a rummage sale because I don't have to sit by a table all day."

Brooks said the items that she leaves for consignment are simply tagged to her name, and the sales will go back to her after the event ends on Sunday.

The event is held at the Washington County Fairgrounds in West Bend. Remaining hours for the sale include: Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Brooks said she attends both the Spring and Fall events, and outfitted both of her children for the summer for a total of $225 — including clothing and swimsuits.

"Every mom that I know goes to shop," she said. "I know some that cosign … some of us are still in the process of having babies so there's not a whole lot to get rid of yet. “

"It's amazing — everytime I go in there I'm just blown away ... (the sale is) just floor to ceiling, wall to wall," she said.
