- How long have you lived in Port Washington and what do you most enjoy about the city? My wife, June and I moved to Port Washington in 2000. I enjoy fishing, so the lake is a big plus for me. I really enjoy the wonderful friendly people we continue to meet here. The fun atmosphere of the city is addicting. I tell everyone that living in Port is like being on vacation every day!
- Where have you lived before Port? Where were you born? I was born in a small town in central Iowa, then moved to Lansing, MI, for 12 years before coming to Port.
- What drew you to Port to begin with? I started a new business in Mequon, but wanted more of a small town atmosphere to live. I have since moved my business to Saukville.
- What do you think the biggest issues this city faces are? Maintaining a solid infrastructure and essential services during a time of possibly decreasing county, state and federal assistance, while still creating an atmosphere that is attractive for people to bring their business, come to work, play and visit.Â
- How do you hope to instill positive change in the city? It is my hope that my 29 years of business ownership will help me to help make fiscally responsible decisions that will allow residents of the city to continue to enjoy the essential services we need and expect. My goal is to assure we make the best use of our lakefront setting, while maintaining an affordable tax base that will attract businesses and families. I will pledge to do my best to keep people informed and listen to any concerns, so that the residents of Port, and my district in particular, feel that they truly have a voice in our local government. I will also do my best to get and stay informed of all city issues, so that any decisions that I am a part of are informed decisions on my part. I thought former Ald. Vollmar did a great job of that, so I have a tough act to follow.
- More about my family: It is just June and I. We have been married for 26 years. No kids, but living in Port, we have a lot of relatives that visit all summer.
- What is your day job? I am primarily the co-founder and VP of DeTech, Inc. DeTech is located in Saukville and provides fire safety educational programs and high-quality home fire safety products.  I also own parts of 3 other businesses and am in the process of starting another.
- Anything else you would like to add? I have been a member of the Harbor Commission for about 2 years and am an active member of the Port Washington Yacht Club.
Driscoll as well as newcomer Kevin Rudser (5th District) will be sworn in as aldermen during the Common Council meeting at 7:30 p.m. April 16 at Port Washington City Hall.
