Milwaukee Man Charged with Burglarizing Two Port Businesses
20-year-old Milwaukee man accused of entering Homeward Bound Tattoo and Oh Zone! and stealing $60.

Editor's note: A correction has been made to this story; it was not the video surveillance that lead police to the man, but rather a fingerprint on the window.
A 20-year-old Milwaukee man was charged Tuesday in connection with a buglary from two Port Washington businesses.
Jaymeson Shaw, 4164 N. Toronto St., also was charged with bail jumping in connection with a disorderly conduct charge filed just a few days before the burglaries occurred.

The crime was committed between July 22 and 23 at Homeward Bound Tattoo and Oh Zone!, 480 W. Grand Ave. Shaw told police he had been walking down Grand Avenue and noticed a crack on the window to Oh Zone!, according to the criminal report. He said he pushed on the crack and the window broke.
A fingerprint left on the window when Shaw pushed it in is what made police able to identify the man, Port Police Chief Richard Thomas said. This match was the first in the department's history.

He then entered the building and found $60. He kicked in a door between the businesses and entered Homeward Bound Tattoo, which is attached to Oh Zone!, but found nothing of interest, the criminal complaint said.
Port police officer Matthew Keller investigated the break-in, speaking with owners of both businesses.
While nothing was taken from Homeward Bound, surveillance video from the tattoo shop shows a man, who police believe to be Shaw, walking about the businesses and ducking whenever a vehicle drove by.
The new crime violates the terms of his bail from the disorderly conduct charge; Shaw now faces two felony counts of burglary as well as two bail jumping misdemeanor charges, which could mean up to $70,000 in fines and/or 26-1/2 years in prison. He will face additional consequences in the disorderly conduct charge.
Shaw is scheduled to appear in Ozaukee County Circuit Court at 9 a.m. Sept. 28.
