Saukville Police Report: Two Strikes Lead to OWI for Grafton Man

A roundup of recent activity from the police blotter.

If he didn't make is mark with round one, he certainly made himself known with round two.

Saukville police first received a call just before 5:18 p.m. Monday about construction barrels that had been hit by a vehicle; then, at 5:18 p.m., a call came from Taco Bell that an obviously intoxicated man was attempting to drive.

The license plate in both incidents was the same.

Police were able to stop the vehicle in the Taco Bell parking lot. In speaking with the driver, officers detected an odor of intoxicants emanating the 49-year-old Grafton man's breath. The man failed field sobriety tests, and was subsequently cited for operating while intoxicated.

  • Why the long face? A horse walks into the bar, which probably wouldn't be a surprise if it was owned by this 51-year-old Saukville woman. The woman was cited at 4:15 p.m. Oct. 19 for her horses being loose, this one of many citations for the same offense. Looks like she needs a stronger fence.
  • Whoops, wrong way: Most people know how to follow a wrong way sign by age 21, but not this 21-year-old Grafton man — and it's likely because of the alcohol. Police stopped a vehicle going the wrong way down a one way on South Main Street. In speaking with the driver, the officer detected intoxicants on his breath. The man failed field sobriety tests, and was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
