Capitol Drive Apartment Proposal Gets Design Revision
"We are very excited about the changes we have made," said Joseph Stanton, the vice president of Three Leaf Partners.

SHOREWOOD, WI β The Village of Shorewood Design Review Board is scheduled to look over revised design plans for an apartment building proposed on the northwest corner of Capitol Drive and Stowell Avenue on March 10.
Notable differences between the initial and revised design plans include changes to the color of the facade plus a change in the placement of garage doors. The facade of the building also reflects structural updates in the new renderings.
"We are very excited about the changes we have made and look forward to the meeting next week," said Joseph Stanton, the vice president of Three Leaf Partners. "Shorewood is a wonderful community and we are very happy to have the opportunity to develop here. We are hopeful the new design will be something the community is proud of.β

Consideration of the plans from when they were last reviewed by the Design Review Board on Jan. 27 was held over so the plans could be modified, according to the latest newsletter from the village manager.
The proposed building would contain 39 total one- and two-bedroom apartments. Construction of the building would take down the single-family home and the SunSeekers business on the lot, although the private parking lot on the west side of the block would stay. The lot the building is proposed for is currently zoned in a way that would allow the development, according to the village manager's newsletter.

A previous iteration of the proposal would have constructed 42 apartments.
Members of the public, as well as those sitting on the Design Review Board, had much to say at the Jan. 27 meeting, according to minutes from that meeting. Some had spoken about the color of the facade in initial plans, others about the balconies or parking garage situation.
Notably, the parking garage entrances in the new designs appear to be changed. The new design reflects a garage entrance being put on the alleyway to the north of the building, whereas the previous design had garage entrance and exits onto Stowell Avenue. The color of the building also appears different in new renderings.
Many had spoken about the development during the meeting. You can read the minutes of all of the comments that were raised at the Jan. 27 meeting online from the Village of Shorewood.
