SHOREWOOD, WI β€” The Estabrook Park Beer Garden is scheduled to open for the 2022 season on April 22.

The beer garden will kick off the 2022 season with a weekend-long celebration, according to an event the venue posted on Facebook. Those celebrations will include a Maibock keg tapping on April 22 at 6 p.m., with free beer to flow until 7 p.m.

It's a "sure sign of spring," the garden wrote in its Facebook post to mark the event. Live music, food, and of course beer are expected to come alongside the opening. The tapping comes as a part of Bavarian tradition, marking the end of winter, the Facebook event says. The beer being tapped is the HofbrΓ€u Maibock Beer, the official beer of the season for Munich.

The day after the opening, April 23, will bring another day of celebration in the name of German Beer Day. The garden will tap a keg of HofbrΓ€u Dunkel beer at noon, and free samples from the keg will be available when they last, according to a separate event listed by the garden on Facebook.
