Messwood Can't Pull Out Comeback, Fields First Loss, to Lake Country Lutheran
Two minutes left, Messwood elected for an onside kick and got the ball back, but wasn't able to pull off the comeback, and dropped its first Midwest Conference match 43-40 Friday night.
With four minutes left in the game and down 10 points, Messwood marched down the field and scored to bring the team to within 3 points of Lake Country Lutheran.

Messwood registered it first loss, 40-43 to Lake Country Lutheran, and dropped to 4-1 (3-1) on the season. Lake Country Lutheran took over the top spot in the Midwest Classic Conference with its win.

Dennis threw for 158 yards with one touchdown and one interception; he was the game's top passer. Messwood running back Alec Grimmer garnered 121 yards on the ground and Carson had a big game with 150 yards receiving.
The Messwood offense picked up 426 yards to Lake Country Lutheran's 376.
