Sendik's In Shorewood To Close After 90 Years
The owners expressed their gratitude to those that supported their "small family store" via the store's Facebook page.

SHOREWOOD, WI - The owners of Sendik's in Shorewood announced over the weekend via a note taped to their door that they will be closing their doors for good soon. Competition with larger, corporate stores were cited as the reason.
Sendik's has been part of the Shorewood neighborhood for 90 years but unfortunately, market circumstances played a major role in the decision to close the Oakland Ave. location. The explanation on the letter taped to the store's door read, "due to circumstances beyond our control and the decline in support of our small family store."
The following message was posted on the Nehring's Sendik's on Oakland Facebook page:

It is with sadness that we announce the closing of Sendik's on Oakland in the coming days.
Sendik's has been part of the Shorewood community for 90 years and we have loved every day of our 19 years as its owners, getting to know and serve our neighbors and customers and providing the freshest produce and highest quality meats for their families' dinner tables.
While not as convenient for the existing Shorewood Sendik's customers, the owners, John Nehring and Anne Finch-Nehring have opened a new location not far from Shorewood at 2643 N. Downer Ave.
We wish to extend our sincere thank you to Shorewood and our customers for their support and welcome you to continue shopping with us at Nehring's Sendik's on Downer (2643 N. Downer Avenue) where many Oakland store staff including Jean and Chef Rob will be moving.
Watch our Facebook page for store hours in the coming days, we do anticipate closing our doors at Sendik's on Oakland for good early next week.
