A Local Teen Gives Athletes Something to Hold On To

Patch has used his outstanding videos before, but the person behind the YouTube page has remained a mystery - until now.

Justin Clough, an 18-year-old graduate, has taken sports coverage to an entirely new level. Between the and cheerleading at Menomonee Falls High School, his videos cements the action and excitement of the game online forever.

“I really like the people my videos appeal to,” Clough said. “It’s nice to know people can look back to my videos and relive their last game or their senior year. It’s cool to know I’m giving the team something to hold on to for the rest of their lives.”

Clough has been covering the area sports teams since 2009, but his passion for video came far before that. From the sixth grade he has been messing around with video cameras and basic computer programs to master his passion.

Now, with a far better camera and programs that Hollywood professionals use, Clough pairs slow-motion action with his favorite songs to make the viewers at home literally feel like their in the stands.

“The first game I covered was the Hamilton vs. Menomonee Falls football game, and it got a really amazing reaction from the fan base,” said Clough. “The appreciation from everyone has been so awesome.”

After plans to go to college in Los Angeles fell through, Clough decided to open his own businesses. Realizing there isn’t exactly an industry for high-quality video work in Menomonee Falls, he continued to film what he loved: Sports.

However, sticking to it may have paid off. Milwaukee-area professionals have been noticing his work, and now Clough is slated to do all the video work for the huge festival Winterfest in downtown Milwaukee this year.

But the new gig isn’t distracting him from what makes him happy.

“I’ll be covering basketball this year for the Falls and Sussex,” Clough said. “I love shooting sports, so I talked with the Sussex coach about covering football a lot more next year. I love doing this. It’s a great way of expressing myself.”
