Spring is in the air and summer is around the corner, which means bird tweets and sightings will soon be possible.
In Sussex, birds that are commonly spotted included blue birds, hummingbirds and orioles, staff at Friends of Nature animal feed store said. Orioles and humming birds are generally out by Mothers Day, which falls on May 12 this year.
Friends of Nature has a variety of hummingbird feeders for sale. Hummingbirds are attracted to red, so using red ribbons or other red decor will help bring them in; flower nectar is the best choice for feeding humming birds.

The color orange will bring in orioles, staff said; the store also has orange feeders available. These birds enjoy grapes and grape jelly.
If you're interested in attracting blue birds to your yard, staff recommend meal worms and peanuts as feeding options.
