Students Receive Money for Winning Poster Designs
In honor of American Education Week, three Hamilton artists received money for portraying why education is important.
announced the winners of its American Education Week poster contest, a painting competition where winners would recieve money depending on their designs.
Alyssa Cardini, grade 10, took first place and received a $100 savings bond. Yer Xiong, grade 9, took second place and received a $50 savings bond, and Morgan Land, grade 9, took third and received a $25 gift card to the school store.
The theme was “Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility,” and the winning posters are on display in the school cafeteria. The contest was open to students enrolled in art, technology, business and graphic design classes. Winners were selected by school office staff and administrators.

American Education Week was founded in 1921 by the National Education Association to raise public awareness of the importance of education. This year’s American Education Week was November 13-19.
