Sussex Week Ahead: Aladdin the Musical and Village Board Meeting

"Aladdin KIDS" the Musical

 fourth- and fifth-graders will present their musical, “Aladdin KIDS,” based on the Disney animated movie. will be on Tuesday at the following times and locations:

• 9-9:45 a.m. in Woodside gym for fourth grade
• 2:30-3:15 p.m. in Woodside gym for fifth grade
• 5:45-6:30 p.m. at  for fourth grade
• 7-7:45 p.m. at Hamilton Fine Arts Center for fifth grade

In music and chorus classes, students learned their singing parts and collaborated to choreograph their dances and actions. Students with speaking roles memorized their lines at home and gave up recesses to rehearse their scenes. This musical’s interweaving of music, drama and dance exemplifies types of arts integration that takes place at various grade levels throughout the year at Woodside.

Village Board Meeting

It's your village, so make a difference! The Village Board will be meeting on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the lower-level of . Stop by the meeting and voice your concerns and comments about Sussex. Know of a problem around the village? Swing by the board and address it. After taking citizen comments, the board will also be going over various topics on its agenda.

Arbor Day

It's that time of year again. National Arbor Day is on Firday, so do Mother Earth a favor and plant a few trees! You can even buy little trees online on the Arbor Day Foundation's website, and they'll tell you what type of tree grows best in Sussex.
