Hello Sussex, it'sΒ yourΒ Local Editor Carl Engelking, and I want to welcome you to the new Patch. Weβre really pleased with it and we think youβll like it, too.
First of all, we think the site looks livelier, and more like Sussex. See that big photo on the top? Thatβs a look at the sculpture outside and entrance to Pauline Haass Library.Β
But the banner photo isn'tΒ the only thing thatβs different about Patch. Now our news looks better, articles areΒ easier to comment on, and it's easier to share. Right below the news on the homepage youβll see blogs, where we showcase more town voices and offer a broader view of whatβs happening above and beyond the news. Weβve alsoΒ made it easier to start a blog yourself β any time, about anything.Β
And speaking of reader voices, the freshest thing youβll find on the new Patch are ourΒ Boards. The Boards are an open virtual spaceΒ on Patch where you can postΒ AnnouncementsΒ about anything you want β lost cats and dogs, school plays, wedding announcements or that strange thing you saw.Β
Thereβs anΒ Opinion BoardΒ β because everyone in town has one, so why not put it all in one place? TheΒ Buy/Sell/Trade BoardΒ is where you can post your garage sale and get rid of the stuff thatβs taken over your basement. And thereβs aΒ Board for Business Updates, which is aΒ dedicated spot for business owners to post news about sales, specials, openings and closings.
Patch is all about our community β the place we live, work and play.Β So please, tell us what you think of the new Patch in theΒ Opinion Board, or throughΒ the feedback form. We canβt wait to hear from you!
