Hello Sussex, it's your Local Editor Carl Engelking, and I want to welcome you to the new Patch. We’re really pleased with it and we think you’ll like it, too.
First of all, we think the site looks livelier, and more like Sussex. See that big photo on the top? That’s a look at the sculpture outside and entrance to Pauline Haass Library.
But the banner photo isn't the only thing that’s different about Patch. Now our news looks better, articles are easier to comment on, and it's easier to share. Right below the news on the homepage you’ll see blogs, where we showcase more town voices and offer a broader view of what’s happening above and beyond the news. We’ve also made it easier to start a blog yourself — any time, about anything.
And speaking of reader voices, the freshest thing you’ll find on the new Patch are our Boards. The Boards are an open virtual space on Patch where you can post Announcements about anything you want – lost cats and dogs, school plays, wedding announcements or that strange thing you saw.
There’s an Opinion Board – because everyone in town has one, so why not put it all in one place? The Buy/Sell/Trade Board is where you can post your garage sale and get rid of the stuff that’s taken over your basement. And there’s a Board for Business Updates, which is a dedicated spot for business owners to post news about sales, specials, openings and closings.
