Two Templeton Students Earn Trip to State History Competition

Eighth-graders advance in even with projects on Japanese internment camps and the atomic bomb.

Two students at l have advance to the state level after competing in the regional at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Saturday.

Angela LeDonne, who wrote a paper entitled “Atomic Bomb,” and Matthew McGuire, who created an exhibit on Japanese internment camps during World War II, will take part in the state competition on May 7 in Madison.

In the event, students selected topics related to this year's theme, "Debate and Diplomacy," and created research papers, museum-style exhibit boards and interactive websites.

Templeton eighth-graders competed against their peers from 23 other school districts in southeastern Wisconsin.
