Waukesha Christmas Parade: 8-Year-Old Is 6th Victim Killed
Jackson Sparks, 8, died Tuesday from injuries sustained at the Waukesha Christmas Parade on Sunday, a fundraiser for his family said.

WAUKESHA, WI — An 8-year-old died Tuesday from injuries he sustained at the Waukesha Christmas Parade on Sunday, according to a GoFundMe account set up for his family's benefit.
The announcement of Jackson Sparks' death would bring the total death count from Sunday's tragedy when an SUV broke through barricades and plowed through the crowd to six.
"This afternoon, our dear Jackson [Sparks] has sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away," a statement posted to LifePoint Church's Facebook and the GoFundMe page said.

Police on Monday confirmed the names of the five others who died. More than 60 people were injured.
His 12-year-old brother, Tucker Sparks, also suffered injuries in the parade and continues to heal, according to the fundraiser. Children's Wisconsin said Monday three pairs of siblings were among the 18 children brought to their hospital after the crash.

Waukesha County District Attorney Susan Opper confirmed the death of a sixth person in court Tuesday and prosecutors said they intend on filing a sixth intentional homicide charge against Darrell Brooks, 39, who is accused of driving the SUV through the crowd.
Before his death was announced Tuesday, the GoFundMe said Jackson needed "a miracle." He underwent brain surgery Sunday evening and doctors checked for brain function and brainstem activity on Monday, the fundraiser said.
The GoFundMe set up for the family's benefit said Tucker, 12, suffered road rash and a fractured skull from the parade.
"Tucker, by the grace of God is miraculously recovering from his injuries and will be being discharged home," the GoFundMe update statement said. "Please know that they [Aaron and Sheri Sparks] appreciate your continued prayers and the tremendous outpouring of support for their family. They do however ask for privacy at this time to allow Tucker to continue to heal physically and their family to heal and mourn the tremendous loss of their sweet little boy who is now under the care of Jesus."
