81% Of Waukesha Residents Happy With City In Quality Of Life Survey
More than 8 out of 10 people would recommend Waukesha to others and plan on living there for the next five years, a nationwide survey found.

WAUKESHA, WI — More than 80 percent of Waukesha residents enjoyed living in their community in a quality of life survey held by the National Community Survey, the City of Waukesha announced on Wednesday.
Of people who ranked their city highly for quality of life, 81 percent of Waukesha residents responded positively to the survey, the city said. More than 8 in 10 residents, or 82 percent, said they would recommend living in their city to others and 85 percent of residents planned to stay for the next five years.
For safety in neighborhoods and in Waukesha's downtown, 91 percent of residents said they felt safe where they lived and in the city's shopping district during the day, the city said. Of safety in the city as a whole, 74 percent of residents said they felt safe from violent crime.

Police services had positive views from 75 percent of residents, fire services had good ratings from 88 percent of residents and ambulance services had positive ratings from 81 percent of residents, the city said.
The survey would allow the city to compare its performance with other cities and find areas for growth and development, Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly said in a statement. “Together our City Council, employees and residents have established Waukesha as a premier location to live, work and do business.”

The survey was developed by the National Research Center at Polco, a community engagement platform, the city said. Residents give opinions on criteria economy, mobility, safety, utilities, inclusivity and engagement to give an assessment of how livable the community is.
