Cinco De Mayo 2022: See Deals, Events Around Waukesha
Cinco de Mayo events include a dance party workshop, restaurant deals, beer gardens and brewery launches.
WAUKESHA, WI — While Cinco de Mayo celebrates Mexico's military victory over the French empire in 1862, it's also a good excuse to visit a local restaurant for authentic eats and to sample a margarita. Because it's May in Wisconsin, it also means people can visit beer gardens and breweries as they open too.
Patch has put together a list of local restaurants and breweries that are offering parties, beer launches and meal specials. Here are some places to try on Thursday.
Tally's Tap and Eatery, S31 W24661 Sunset Drive, will serve imported Mexican beers, dishes like fajitas and shrimp street tacos and chimichanga raspberry cheesecake bites on Thursday, the restaurant announced in a Facebook post. Chips with a choice of guacamole and salsa are a given.

Closer to downtown, La Estacion Mexican Restaurant, 319 Williams Street, will have a Cinco de Mayo lunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. House-made cocktails like the "Mayo-rita" and "Hornitos Paloma" will be available on a special menu.
The beer garden attached to Tekila, at N64 W23760 Main St. in Sussex, was set to open Thursday but the owner saidit could open sooner if weather permits, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported. The garden includes two fire pits and a special taco menu.

And of course, you don't observe Cinco de Mayo without music and dancing. Zumba instructor Dalilah Soto will host a dance party for the holiday at the Wisconsin Athletic Club in Menomonee Falls on Friday, according to the Facebook listing.
Looking for something to do for Cinco de Mayo outside of Waukesha? There are a couple of beer-centric options in the Milwaukee area.
Nomad World Pub, 1401 E. Brady St. in Milwaukee, will launch the Lakefront Brewery Arturo's Mexican Ale and have a happy hour from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., the bar announced in a Facebook post.
Faklandia Brewing, 3807 S. Packard Avenue, Milwaukee, is launching a party for the Mexican holiday, the Brewery said in a statement. Food and drink specials include margaritas, quesadillas and burritos.
