Inmate Tests Postive For Coronavirus At Waukesha County Jail
Authorities say they learned about the man who was infected on Saturday, and are reporting it Monday.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Authorities in Waukesha County confirmed Monday that an inmate has been infected with the new coronavirus.
According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's office, on Saturday, April 4, authorities learned that a 41 year-old man who is an inmate at the Waukesha County Jail tested positive for COVID-19.

Officials released a statement Monday afternoon, saying the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office along with the Waukesha County Jail are following all guidelines issued by the public health director.
"At this time, given the sensitive nature of the individual’s medical records, this is all the information the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office will be releasing," Sheriff's officials said in a statement.

Benjamin Jones, Waukesha County Health Officer and Public Health Manager told Patch last week that the Waukesha County Public Health department is working diligently to manage the COVID-19 outbreak in the county.
"Our established relationships have created an environment where the public health system can operate in a unified manner to mount an effective response," he said. "The Waukesha County Emergency Operations Center is activated at level 1, its highest level, in order to enhance this community response to COVID-19."
