Man Dead After Pickup Truck Crashes Into Van In Genesee: Sheriff

A crash on Highway 59 near Rockwood Trail left an 84-year-old man with fatal injuries Sunday afternoon, according to Waukesha's sheriff.

GENESEE, WI — A pickup truck crossed the centerline on Highway 59 near Rockwood Trail in Genesee and crashed into a van leaving one person dead Sunday afternoon, according to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office.

The pickup truck, driven by a 34-year-old woman, was traveling west when it crossed the centerline and crashed into the van that was headed in the opposite direction about 1:30 p.m., the sheriff's office said. The 84-year-old man who was driving the van suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and has since died, according to the sheriff's office.

The other driver was brought to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. After the crash, authorities closed Highway 59 for about five hours, according to the sheriff's office.

A cause of the crash is still being investigated.
