Man Dies After Motorized Scooter Crash In Waukesha: Police
A 72-year-old motorized scooter rider was wearing a helmet during a crash in Waukesha Wednesday morning, but he later died, police said.
WAUKESHA, WI — A 72-year-old man died Wednesday after his motorized scooter crashed near Saylesville Road and Highway 59 in Waukesha, according to police.
Police and firefighters from Waukesha were called out around 9:21 a.m. First responders brought the lone injured rider to Waukesha Memorial Hospital, but despite attempts to save him, police said he died shortly after the crash.
Police noted the rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the fatal crash, though details remain under investigation to determine an exact cause.

"Motorcycle safety is a shared responsibility that extends beyond just riders," police wrote in a news release Wednesday afternoon. "All road users, including motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists, must remain vigilant and exercise caution on the roads. By adhering to traffic regulations, maintaining appropriate speeds, and being mindful of one another, we can significantly reduce the occurrence of tragic incidents like this."
