Memorial Day 2013 Events in Waukesha

Memorial Day gives us a moment to thank and honor our military men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Waukesha has several ways you can honor veterans this Memorial Day.

First, you can purchase a poppy and wear it for Memorial Day. Why poppies? This event post explains more:

In the battlefields of Belgium during World War I, poppies grew wild amid the ravages of war.  The overturned soils of battle enabled the poppy seeds to be covered, allowing them to grow and forever serve as a reminder of the bloodshed of war.

Waukesha also has three Memorial Day events that serve as tributes to those fallen during their service:
