Motorcyclist From New Berlin Dies In Pewaukee Crash: Sheriff

A Waukesha sheriff's deputy saw a motorcycle driving down State Highway 16 early Tuesday morning and then found it crashed, officials said.

PEWAUKEE, WI — A motorcyclist from New Berlin lost control and died in a crash early Tuesday morning on State Highway 16 near Ryan Road, according to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office.

A Waukesha sheriff's deputy spotted the motorcycle speeding eastbound on the road just before 1 a.m. and went to check the area, a news release from the agency said. The deputy later found the crashed motorcycle and the driver who died on the scene, according to the sheriff's office.

Officials identified the driver as a 29-year-old man from New Berlin. He was the only person on the motorcycle during the crash. Authorites believe the motorcyclist lost control and left the roadway.

State Highway 16 was closed between Main Street and Ryan Road for about four hours as deputies investigated the crash, officials said.

Officials from the Pewaukee Police Department and Fire Department responded to the crash alongside Wisconsin State Patrol.
