Owl Hit By Car In Waukesha County Recovers
A Red-phase Eastern Screech Owl was nursed back to health by Wild Life In Need. The owl was released back into the wild.
WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI— A Red-phase Eastern Screech Owl was found and rescued from the middle of the road by the Mukwonago Police Department by Norris Academy on Dec. 1, according to the Wild Life In Need Facebook page.
It was believed to be hit by a vehicle and was suffering from head trauma. The owl was initially treated with fluids and an anti-inflammatory, the post said.
It was then moved to a larger enclosure outside to spread its wings and for flight observation. It was released back to the wild after three weeks.
