Pedestrian Identified After Fatal Interstate 94 Crash In Pewaukee
A woman was hit and killed by a car on Interstate 94 in Waukesha County Monday evening, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
PEWAUKEE, WI — A woman was hit and killed by an SUV Monday evening on eastbound Interstate 94 in Waukesha County near Highway 164, according to a news release by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
It happened around 8 p.m., authorities said. A trooper found an empty car that went down an embankment on the side of the highway, the news release said. Officials believe the woman got out of her car and was hit by another car when she was trying to cross the interstate.
The interstate was closed amid an investigation of the crash. Nobody was injured aside from the pedestrian who died. The driver of the striking car stayed on scene and cooperated, authorities said.

The Wisconsin State Patrol identified the pedestrian as Patricia Casimiro Toledo, of Waukesha. The Waukesha County Medical Examiner pronounced Toledo dead at 10:30 p.m. Monday.
The identity of the 25-year-old driver was not released.
