Police Called After Waukesha Woodmans Customer Wouldn't Wear Mask

Waukesha police said a customer at Woodmans damaged a display after he was denied entry into the store because he wouldn't wear a mask.

WAUKESHA, WI — A Waukesha man was arrested and cited after police say he became upset over Woodmans' face mask policy, refused to wear a mask and took out his frustrations on a display in the store.

According to Waukesha police call logs, officers were sent to the Woodmans grocery store at 1600 E. Main St. just after 2 p.m. on July 21 on a report of a person who refused to wear a mask in order to enter the store.

Woodmans began requiring that customers wear masks on July 20.

Authorities said the man became upset over the new policy, and damaged a candy bar display as he was leaving the store.

Police call logs indicated the man was between 25 and 30 years old wearing a black shirt, black shorts and had short dark hair.

Waukesha police told Patch the man was tracked down by police in the store's parking lot and was arrested. Police said he was issued multiple citations.
