WAUKESHA, WI — A Waukesha restaurant announced it would limit its breakfast menu after 4 p.m. to better accommodate customers, according to a Facebook post.

Gyros West like many other businesses is experiencing challenges due to the pandemic such as employee vacancies.

“We appreciate the outpouring of support and patience this evening. Like many businesses, we’re facing challenges and always strive to do the best we can. We were overwhelmed tonight and sincerely apologize for the longer than normal wait times. Moving forward, we will have a limited breakfast menu after 4pm to better accommodate our customers. After 31 years in Waukesha, we’re grateful to be your destination for a meal whether its breakfast, lunch or dinner. Thank you for continuing to patronize our local family restaurant and other local businesses," the Facebook post said.

Leo Haideman; his wife, Julie Haideman; and his brother, Steve Haideman, own Gyros West. Leo and Julie previously told Patch job vacancies have made running the business difficult.

Back in August, the restaurant temporarily closed its doors on Mondays but resumed normal hours a few weeks later.

Julie Haideman said in a previous interview many staff members have been with them for more than 15 years. Some people come in and only apply or are hired but quit in a day.

"We don't want to burn out the staff that we have or our family, which is a big part of the staff," Julie Haideman said.
