Waukesha Parents Cautioned On TikTok Safety Threat

Waukesha School District wasn't mentioned in the threats, the district said.

WAUKESHA, WI— Waukesha parents are being cautioned about an unspecified unspecified threat to school safety — however there is no specific threat to schools in Waukesha, according to the Waukesha School District.

Several students told administrators there are messages on the social media app TikTok that there will be school shootings on Friday. The district said Waukesha School District wasn't mentioned.

"Parents, we are asking you to discuss this with your children. We take all threats seriously and any threats against the school or district will be disciplined to the greatest extent possible, up to and including expulsion from school. If you or your child hears of any specific threat to our district, we ask that you please report it immediately," the email from the district said.

Waukesha Catholic Memorial High School is also cautioning parents.

"There have been no specific threats targeted at our school, CMH, or the Waukesha School District. Unfortunately, this appears to be a terrible rumor, with very little credibility, that has rapidly spread across TikTok,"Lisa Kovaleski, principal, said in an email.

The school will be extra vigilant and monitor closely for other rumors.

"If you or your child would hear of any specific threats to our school or surrounding schools, we would ask that you please report it immediately," Kovaleski said.
