Man Points Gun At Protesters Outside Milwaukee Home, Police Say

MILWAUKEE COUNTY,WI—A 56-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested after he wielded a chainsaw and later pointed a gun at protesters outside his on on Monday, Milwaukee Police said.

On Monday afternoon, police responded to the 3400 block of N. 80th Street. A man threatened to physically harm his neighbor while holding a chainsaw and was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed, according to the release.

An hour later, police were dispatched to a demonstration at the same location where several people were protesting outside the man's home. As police were monitoring the protest, a witness reported the man from the chainsaw incident was inside.

The witness said he was by his window and the man motioned the long gun as if he chambered a round and then pointed the gun at the crowd, police said. The video of the incident was broadcasted on several social media outlets, the release said.

The man appeared to be intoxicated and was arrested for endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon while under the influence of an intoxicant, disorderly conduct while armed and bail jumping, police said.

Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the upcoming days.

"The Milwaukee Police Department continues to support the rights of those who choose to peacefully protest," the release said.
