Reckless Driver Strikes Crossing Guard; Authorities Ask For Help
Sheriff's officials say a woman ignored a crossing guard, and struck her twice.
WAUWATOSA, WI — Authorities in Milwaukee County say they are asking for the public's help after a reckless driver struck a crossing guard on the grounds of the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's office, a woman was driving through the medical center campus at just before 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 14 when she ignored a crossing guard's signal to stop, and hit her twice with her car.
Sheriff's officials say the crossing guard did not suffer any serious injuries, however did say the incident endangered the crossing guard's safety as well as pedestrians who were in the crosswalk at the time.

Sheriff's officials are asking anyone with information to please contact the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center at (414) 278-4788.
State law in Wisconsin requires motorists to stop, if directed by a crossing guard. The driver must stop their vehicle at least 10 feet from the crosswalk, and remain stopped until the crossing guard directs the motorist to go ahead.
