Wauwatosa 2012 Primary Election Guide

With the election season under way, this is what every Wauwatosa resident needs to know about voting in the Aug. 14 primary.

We want to make sure you've got all the information you need before hitting the voting booth on Tuesday, Aug. 14. See below for information on the upcoming election and a breakdown of every race, with links to individual candidate profiles.

Polling locations: Wauwatosa has 14 polling locations for 24 wards and eight districts. To determine your ward, contact the City Clerk's office at  (414) 479-8921, email the City Clerk's office, or view the district/ward map.  You can also look it up on the Wisconsin Voter Public Access website.

  • Ward 1 — Fire Station No. 1, 1601 Underwood Ave.
  • Wards 2-3 — Washington School, 2177 N. 67th St.
  • Wards 4-5 — City Hall Lower Civic Center, 7725 W. North Ave.
  • Wards 6-7 — Wilson School, 1060 N. Glenview Ave.
  • Wards 8-9 — Underwood School, 11132 W. Potter Road
  • Ward 10 — Hart Park Recreation Building, 7300 W. Chestnut St.

Early voting: Download the application for an absentee ballot. You also may submit a written request via mail, fax (414-479-8989) or email. The deadline to vote absentee is 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10. Visit the city's absentee voter web page for more information.
