Woman, 59, Found Dead In Menomonee River Tuesday: Report
Police in Wauwatosa say the body of a 59-year-old woman was found in the Menomonee River the day after she was reported missing. Details:
WAUWATOSA, WI — Authorities in Wauwatosa say they recovered the body of a 59-year-old woman found in the Menomonee River after she reportedly went missing from a psychiatric hospital the day before.
According to the Wauwatosa Police Department, officers were called to the Aurora Psychiatric Hospital, 1220 Dewey Ave. at just before 5 p.m. Monday on a report that a 59-year-old woman left the facility two hours prior. The woman's caregivers told police that the woman typically went on walks in the area on her own before, but always returned. This time, staff told police that she went out for a walk but did not return by the time a family member came to pick her up.
According to police, Wauwatosa police searched the area for the woman Monday night, however did not find her.

Wauwatosa police said they were called to Jacobus Park, 6501 Hillside Lane, at just after noon on Tuesday for a report that someone found a woman's body in the Menomonee River. When authorities investigated, they learned that the body was of the woman who went missing the day before.
According to police, the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office investigator said there were no obvious signs of trauma, nor anything suspicious to lead authorities to believe that any crime took place.
