$350,000 in Street Improvements Eyed for Bay

Civic Foundation's final Ice Cream Social of the summer also highlights a busy week in Whitefish Bay.

Whitefish Bay trustees are expected Monday night to award a contract for about $350,000 to resurface streets on about 25 blocks through the village.

The village will pick up most of the tab, but property owners on those blocks can expect to get hit with a special assessment for the project, which is also being voted upon Monday.

The board, which meets at 7 p.m. at Village Hall, also is expected to vote Monday on an ordinance that would allow residents, businesses and organizations to set up Free Little Libraries in their yards, but would require anyone who wants to build one to appear before the Architectural Review Committee and get a building permit. And there are about eight other regulations on the libraries as well.
