6th Grade Girls Compete in Elite State Basketball Tournament
Alexandra Menard was also one of 15 players selected for the Division 2 All Star team.
The Whitefish Bay 6th grade girls basketball team participated in the Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament in Marathon, Merrill and Wausau, Wisconsin, on Feb. 25 and 26.
This tournament, which was organized by The Great Northwest Basketball League, brought together 85 of the top community-based 6th grade girls basketball teams from all across the state. State champions were crowned in four divisions: Division 1, Division 2, Division 3 and Division 4/5, based on the enrollment of the high school into which each team feeds.Β
The Whitefish Bay 6th grade girls team finished in 18th place in the Division 2, competition.Β The results of Whitefish Bayβs six games were as follows:

In pool play, Whitefish Bay beat West De Pere 31-24, lost to Beaver Dam 30-24 and lost to Onalaska 11-42. In the round robin for 17th place and 20th place, Whitefish Bay lost 14-34 to Pewaukee, beat Hayward 29-26 and beat Deforest 24-22.
Milton defeated Beaver Dam, 30-23, to win the Division 2 Championship.

The Whitefish Bay team is coached by Jamie Andriacchi;Β Assistant Coaches:Β Bob Menard, Tom Ebert and Katie Cook.
Whitefish Bay's Alexandra Menard was also one of 15 players selected to receive a trophy for an All State Tournament Team.
