A Windy Day in the Bay

Heavy winds took control of batting cages, business signs and more on Sunday.

It was a windy day in the Bay Sunday, with wind gusts reaching 50 miles per hour in the Milwaukee area.

The strong winds on Sunday were enough to move the batting cage into the roadway near North Sheffield Avenue and East Chateau Place at about 11:26 a.m. Police officers removed the cage from the roadway and secured it in place.

At Amini Oriental Rugs, 517 E. Silver Spring Dr., the strong winds took a panel off of the store sign and took out a fluorescent light bulb, which broke on the ground.
