The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center (the JCC) was selected as one of 30 charities to share in Potawatomi Bingo Casino’s Miracle on Canal Street annual signature community program. Funded primarily by its Miracle bingo game (held every bingo session in the Casino’s Nest of Life Bingo Hall), the program has raised more than $10.5 million for nearly 350 local children’s charities since its inception in 1994.
The JCC will use the Miracle on Canal Street proceeds to benefit the Shiluv special needs camping program at the Albert & Ann Deshur JCC Rainbow Day Camp in Fredonia, Wis. Camp Director Lenny Kass said the Shiluv program helps mainstream campers with special needs into all camping opportunities. He added that the Miracle on Canal Street proceeds will be used for scholarships to enable even more children with special needs to participate in the Shiluv program.
Tickets are available for a special night of bingo to support the Miracle on Canal Street on December 9 at Potawatomi Bingo Casino. For information about acquiring tickets for a JCC table or to learn more about the JCC’s special needs programs, please contact Harriet Rothman, JCC Development Director, at hrothman@jccmilwaukee.org or (414) 967-8239.
