Neighbor Hurls Insults With Hand-Written Signs

The woman taped signs to the side of her home that insulted her neighbor, his girlfriend and his 12-year-old daughter.

An ongoing feud between two neighbors turned ugly last week, when a woman took photos outside her neighbor's bedroom window at night and posted hand-written signs insulting the man, his girlfriend and his 12-year-old daughter.

According to a Whitefish Bay police report, the altercation occurred shortly after the man called the police on April 13 to report his neighbor's dog was barking loudly. When the police left, the woman's husband confronted the neighbor about why he called the police, and he said it was because the woman has responded negatively to other concerns he has raised in the past.

One of the man's concerns was that the woman's two sons often play on the roof of her garage. The woman, who lives on Henry Clay Street, overheard him tell his landlord that he took photographs of her two sons playing on the roof of her garage, which angered her.

On Wednesday, four days after the dog barking incident, the man was in bed attempting to fall asleep, when at approximately 11:30 p.m., he saw several flashes through the blinds on his bedroom window. After several minutes of flashing, he opened his blinds and saw the woman standing next to his window taking pictures with a flash. She then ran away, but then returned 10 minutes later to take photos for another eight to 10 minutes.

She later told police that she used her camera flash in his window so he "would know how it felt" to have his picture taken.

A couple hours later, around 2 a.m., the man was again woken up by her screaming "Leave me alone" outside his bedroom window. He opened his blinds and saw her run back inside her house.

When he woke up for work at 4:45 a.m., he looked out his bedroom window and saw two large hand-written signs taped to the neighbor's house that referred to him having "freaky" sex in his bedroom, accused his girlfriend of being a "druggie" and called his 12-year-old daughter a "murderous child."

When questioned by the police, the woman admitted the signs were inappropriate. She was issued a municipal citation for disorderly conduct, and the man told police he is also seeking a restraining order against her.
