The Whitefish Bay Berserkers Rugby team triumphed in two pre-season scrimmages this weekend against Marquette and Madison LaFollette. The Berserkers A-side rugby defeated Marquette Saturday with a score of 30 to 5, with Jeff Cebe and Taylor Hoff scoring two a piece and Taylor Young and Tommy Henricks each scoring one. Team manager Cindy Hoff said the pack did a great job of running through the Marquette middle to score, wth Colin West and Alec forrer having big runs.  The Berserkers passed the ball nicely to come out ahead, Hoff said. The team's next scrimmage was against Madison Lafollette.  It was a tough see-saw game with the Berserkers coming out ahead on a daring 40-yard sprint by Bobby Rinka. Also scoring were Henry Dixon and Joe Ailleo. The final score was 15 to 10. The B-side also won 20 to 5, with tries by Will Shanley, Dan Pettay and two by newcomer Jack Beck. The team will face off against Muskego in its home opener at 5 p.m. April 14 at Cahill Square Park.
