Drunken Driver Arrested After Hitting 2 Poles: Report

Police in Whitefish Bay say a 26-year-old Greendale woman was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving early on New Year's day.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI β€” Police in Whitefish Bay say they arrested a drunken driver who hit multiple obstacles during the early-morning hours of Jan. 1.

According to Whitefish Bay police call logs, an officer on patrol in the 4700 block of N. Oakland Ave. at just before 1 a.m. on Jan. 1 when he saw the driver of a vehicle speeding and failing to stop for several stop signs.

Police said the driver, a 26-year-old Greendale woman, was arrested after a preliminary breath test determined that she had a blood alcohol concentration of .23 - nearly three times the legal limit for drunken driving in Wisconsin.

Police in their report noted that the vehicle had hit a yellow pole on the driver's side and a second pole on the passenger side.
