Duke Pride Roundup: Hall of Fame Ceremony Friday
Eight individuals will be inducted as part of inaugural class.

Here is this week's Duke Pride Roundup of athletics and activities at Whitefish Bay High School, courtesy of Athletic Director John Gustavson:
ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME CEREMONY: The inaugural class of Whitefish Bay Athletic Hall of Fame will be inducted on Friday. The ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the Link, the new gathering area outside the east side of the swimming pool. The ceremony is scheduled to last an hour as the first class has 8 inductees. Additionally, the inductees, or their representatives, will be introduced in the Field House at 7 p.m. between the girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball games versus Port Washington.
The inductees are: Bill Hilgendorf, Jack Nagle, Mary Manning, Craig Counsell, Chet Wangerin, Sheldon Lubar, Randy Dean and Bob Bradley. Read their complete biographies here.
BOYS SWIMMING: The swim team captured third place at last Saturday’s conference swim meet at Nicolet. Top three finishers were:

- First place: Joe Kaszubowski, diving
- Second place: 200 medley relay (Noah Oldson, Henry Smith, James Colton, Henry Bourgeois); 200 free, Henry Bourgeois; 500 free, Henry Smith; 100 back, James Colton; second place, 400 free relay (Ethan Nikolau, Henry Smith, Henry Bourgeois, James Colton)
- Third place: 100 back, Noah Oldson
The team will compete at sectionals this Saturday at Cudahy with swimming starting at 12:30. The diving portion will be held on Friday at a site to be determined.
WRESTLING: Congratulations to the wrestling team on their third-place finish at the conference meet last Saturday at Grafton.

- Champion: Nick Levings

The team moves on to regional competition this Saturday at Nicolet starting at 10:30 a.m. Congratulations to Ben Lehrmann, who set a school record for pins in a season.
DIVISION 1 SIGNEES: Congratulations to Mariah Vichich and Emma-Lisa Murphy who signed Letters of Intent last week to compete at the Division 1 level. Mariah will be playing soccer at Loyola University Chicago while Emma-Lisa will run both cross country and track at the University of Wisconsin.
BASKETBALL DOUBLEHEADER: On Friday the girls’ basketball team will host Port Washington at 5:30 and the boys’ team will follow with a 7:45 game also versus Port Washington. Between games at 7 p.m., the inductees in to the Athletic Hall of Fame will be introduced.
GYMNASTICS: It will be a busy week for gymnastics as the team will host West Allis in a dual meet this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and then will host the 20-team Robert Bradley Invitational on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
HOCKEY: The skaters will host their final two games this week as they close out the regular season. Friday night at 6 p.m. they will host New Richmond and Saturday at 1:30 they will host Monona Grove at the MSOE Kern Center. The team has garnered the No. 5 seed in the WIAA Sectional.
SKI TEAM: In last Wednesday’s slushy slalom ski race at Alpine Valley, Senior Captain Ellie Sato finished in first place. Coupled with strong performances from Greta Jochem and Midori Ando, the girls varsity finished in third place overall. Senior captain Matt Frick, Lewis Zwieflehofer, and Oleg Frandle led the boys varsity skiers to a second-place finish. The teams have their final regular season meet this Wednesday at Sunburst.
