Electronics Stolen From Unlocked Cars

Residents reported seeing a man attempting to break in to vehicles early Friday morning.

Expensive electronics were stolen from two vehicles during a minor spree of thefts from unlocked cars Thursday night and Friday morning.

Residents on the 5700 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard reported a suspicious man attempting to enter vehicles at 2:40 a.m. Friday. All squads reported to the area but were unable to locate him. He was last seen running northbound on foot.

The man may be connected to a reported theft of a laptop and a GPS navigator from an unlocked vehicle just two blocks away in the 5800 block of North Shoreland Avenue. The resident believes the theft happened between 4 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday.

Three blocks north, a laptop was stolen from another unlocked vehicle in the 6100 block of North Kent Avenue. The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between 6:30 p.m. Thursday and 5:30 a.m. Friday.
