
Come celebrate the 66th anniversary of the United Nations with a flag raising ceremony in front of Whitefish Bay Village Hal on October 23.
The ceremony, which will begin at noon, will feature a raising of the United Nations and American flags, with an honor guard from Boy Scout Troop 400.Â
A reception will follow with a welcome by Whitefish Bay Village President Julie Siegel and Joe Sauer of Boy Scout Troop 400.

There will be a program on the Campaign to Ban Land Mines and Cluster Bombs, by International Treaty. The UN passed a resolution against trade of antipersonnel land mines, but the Security Council never passed a formal treaty banning land mines.
The speaker will be Debbie Metke, Advocacy Chair of the Greater Milwaukee Chapter of the United Nations Association, and President of the Milwaukee chapter of Citizens for Global Solutions.

There will also be an award of appreciation to a special guest. Refreshments will be served.
