A 15-year-old Whitefish Bay girl was robbed of her shoulder bag while walking to band rehearsal at Whitefish Bay High School last week.
The girl told police she was walking down the 4900 block of Ardmore Avenue when two boys ran up from behind her, took her shoulder bag, and left in a get-away vehicle around 7 p.m. Jan. 15, according to the police report. The girl was not able to identify the suspects.

During follow-up interviews with the boys, Whitefish Bay police learned the 17-year-old boy was picked up from his home in Mequon and was driven to Shorewood to collect and pay off an old drug debt, according to the report. While they were waiting to collect, the foursome drove around the Whitefish Bay area looking for someone to rob to get additional money.
After they the stole the girl's bag, one boy ran directly to the get-away car. The other boy jumped a fence, hid inside of a garage in the 4900 block of Wildwood Avnue and ditched the stolen items behind a garage in the 4900 block of Ardmore Avenue, according to the report.
Whitefish Bay police recommended the 19-year-old Milwaukee man and 17-year-old Mequon boy be charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, but the District Attorney's office declined to issue charges. The other boys are facing juvenile charges, which are currently pending in Milwaukee County Children's Court. The driver of the get-away vehicle was cited for operating with suspended registration.
