Higher Dispatch Records Costs on Village Board Agenda

Village Board members will consider paying more than was budgeted for a records management system at the consolidated dispatch center when they meet Monday at 6 p.m. at Village Hall.

To bring all the North Shore communities served by consolidated dispatch onto the same, integrated system will require a one-time investment of almost $140,000 and annual maintenance and service of just more than $18,000, according to a memo from Village Manager Patrick DeGrave. The village set aside just $75,000, and DeGrave recommends using money saved by reduced health insurance costs to make up the difference in 2013.

Other key items on the board’s agenda:

• Authorizing the issuance and sale of $1.8 million in general obligation bonds for the Mandel Group apartment development.
• Considering the Class B beer and Class C wine license requests by Rose Niles for a wine and tapas bar at the former Cutters barbers shop.

The board will also convene to closed session at the start of the meeting to discuss a series of matters, including a “wage adjustment” for the superintendent of the Department of Public Works.
