Illinois Man Learns Wisconsin Marijuana Rules The Hard Way: Cops
When an Illinois man showed a Wisconsin police officer his medical marijuana license, he was arrested for possession of marijuana.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI — A 23-year-old Illinois man recently found out the hard way that Illinois laws pertaining to medical marijuana are not, in fact, the same in Wisconsin.
According to Whitefish Bay police call logs, a police sergeant on patrol in the 5300 block of N. Santa Monica Blvd. during the early morning hours of Sept. 16 was approached by the man from Chicago, saying he needed a ride to the Ma Fischers restaurant on Milwaukee's north side.
During the encounter, police said they noticed the man was carrying marijuana on him. When the man produced his Illinois medical marijuana license, police informed him that it was not valid in Wisconsin.

The officer arrested the man on suspicion of possession of marijuana. The man then requested an ambulance for transport to the hospital for post-traumatic stress disorder.
According to police call logs, the North Shore Fire Department transported the man to the hospital for treatment. Following treatment, the man was then transported to the Whitefish Bay Police Department so authorities could issue a citation for marijuana possession. He was later released.
