WHITEFISH BAY, WI — A bar called North 48º could be coming to Silver Spring Drive at the former site of Penzeys Spices in Whitefish Bay. The business applied for a conditional use permit, which was heard on Monday.

The proposal states it would be a craft cocktail establishment for spirits, beer and wine. The application also provided details for possible outdoor sidewalk seating. North 48 has two existing locations, one in Cedarburg and one in Oconomowoc, according to its website.

The North 48º website calls the bar home to hand-crafted cocktails, fresh juice and a rotating beer selection. OnMilwaukee.com had first reported the news, and Jordan Cole, the applicant for the new bar, told the outlet the spot would take after the style of previous locations, with a north-woods vibe.

The bar would move into 619 Silver Spring Drive, the application documents say.
