Pedestrian Fatally Hit By Vehicle In Whitefish Bay

WHITEFISH BAY, WI — A woman died after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday evening near Lake View Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, according to a news release from Whitefish Bay police.

Authorities were called out around 5:38 p.m. Officers found a 75-year-old woman from Whitefish Bay pinned underneath a vehicle, the release said. The North Shore Fire Department extricated the woman and attempted lifesaving measures but the woman died, police said.

The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating, police said.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time," police said in the release. "We ask for the family’s privacy."
