Police Report: Four Small Fires Reported Sunday
Two drunk drivers were also arrested in Whitefish Bay this week.

Some may have been set by pyromaniac pranksters and another started on accident β but for whatever reason β four small fires were reported in the village Sunday.
According to the past week's police log:
- A calendar book and a newspaper insert were stolen from the foyer in the 900 block of East Henry Clay St and then started on fire in a indoor planter at 800 East Henry Clay St at 7:57 a.m. Sunday. Cigarette butts were recovered from the scene.
- A wooden bench was set on fire near 's administrative offices at 4825 N. Wildwood Ave. at 10:31 a.m. Sunday. Officers believe numerous church bulletins were ignited and placed on the bench. The suspects were gone on arrival, but numerous cigarette butts were recovered from the scene.
- The manager of an apartment building in the 900 block of East Henry Clay Street told police that someone started a fire in the unlocked front foyer at 5:51 p.m. Sunday. A small amount of burnt paper and a cigarette butt was collected.
- A fire that started in a metal pit in a patio in the 6000 block of North Lydell Avenue spread to a large rubber mat adjacent to the pit, prompting a police officer to respond to the scene and put out the spreading fire with a fire extinguisher from the squad at 8:20 p.m. Sunday. The homeowner was advised of the village ordinance prohibiting open burning and will be mailed a citation.

- A 24-year-old Whitefish Bay woman was cited for speeding and her first drunken driving offense after she was clocked at 13 mph over the speed limit in the 4700 block of N. Oakland Avenue at 2:19 a.m. Jan. 23. She refused intoximeter testing when transported to the police station.
- A 54-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for his first drunken driving offense after an officer spotted him driving erratically and impeding traffic in the 4800 block of Berkeley Boulevard at 1:14 a.m. Sunday.
