Police Report: Grandmother's Silverware Stolen from Home

The latest reports from the Whitefish Bay Police Department.

An unknown person broke into a home on the 5700 block of North Kent Avenue last week and stole $365 in silverware that was inherited from the homeowner’s grandmother.

The homeowner was out of town last week, and when she returned Thursday, she reported the missing silverware. The home is currently for sale, and police did not find any signs of forced entry.

  • A homeowner on the 300 block of East Lake View Avenue reported an unknown person attempted to remove a Plexiglas deck window from the home, either on the night of March 21 or the morning of March 22.
  • An apartment resident on the 300 block of East Henry Clay Street reported numerous items were stolen from a storage locker in the basement of the building. Among the items reported stolen between the night of March 21 and Wednesday morning were a wooden crib valued at $2,000, a $200 lawn mower and other miscellaneous items.
  • Tuesday night’s rainfall led to about a foot of standing water at North Consaul Place and East Lake View Avenue, where a clogged sewer grate prevented water from draining into the sewer. The Department of Public Works was advised of the standing water in that area and on the 5100 and 5200 blocks of North Marlborough Drive.
  • A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was allegedly intoxicated and disoriented at 6 a.m. Sunday, when he knocked on the front door of a home on the 5200 block of North Kent Avenue and asked to get into the residence. Whitefish Bay Police made arrangements for the man to get a ride home.
  • A 34-year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody after stealing a $53 bottle of liquor from at 9 p.m. Sunday. He was cited and transported to the Milwaukee County Criminal Justice Facility for a parole violation felony warrant.
