Residents Support Demet for Trustee
Whitefish Bay Patch wants to hear your opinions on village issues. We will publish your letters to the editor in this column.

Dear Editor,
We have had the distinct honor of knowing Trustee candidate William Demet for a number of years. Will has demonstrated time and again his integrity, intellect and respectful demeanor during the many hours we have debated and discussed the subtle nuances of many of the problems facing society today. My husband and I have known him and are privileged to know several generations of his fine family. I have served as a Police Commissioner in Whitefish Bay since 2002, and Will has asked exactly the questions I would ask to distill the essence of the complex functions of the Commission. While Will has not already finished graduate school, I have no doubt he will manage stunning accomplishments with humility. His further success in life and educational pursuits is only a matter of time.
I observed Will during the recent candidate forum, and again he proved himself an excellent questioner, listener and learner. Will can drill down into a thought or concept as well as few inquisitors I know, and I know quite a few being a lawyer myself for over 20 years. Recently, I read Attorney Robert Crawford's endorsement of Will as Trustee, and I have to agree in every measure. Mr. Crawford reminds us we owe much to generations of young people sent ahead to bravely lead, such as the men who stormed the beaches in Normandy during D-Day. My own uncle laid down his life in Normandy.
My husband and I have had the duty as parents to scrutinize Will as a suitor for our eldest daughter, and we have! My father used to judge potential dates by requiring them to recite obscure verb conjugations in Latin, or perform feats of strength. He required in-depth conversations before he would allow my sister or me to leave the house with any gentleman callers. I have learned well at his knee, and I submit we would have it no other way with our precious daughters. We are tough customers, and Will gets our nod. My husband and I strongly endorse Will Demet as Whitefish Bay Trustee.
